New studio (Silo 6)

My concept was the ability to walk under a very solid and heavy building. I related this to the letter T because of how solid and heavy the top part of the T was and it was only being held with a pole in the middle.

Stacked model of my idea to show the details.

Final Model for my first studio group (Va)

Final Model finished.

Developing my idea

After seeing the random model they gave me idea of flattening the circles and seeing what it would looked like when they overlapped each other. Brainstorming a lot of different ideas, I finally came up with a mock-up model.

This model will be protruding out of the land and hangs over the water. It is an area for people to walk and to run through as well as to sit down and relax.

My very first crit...

Presenting my idea to the tutors, they had given me feedback about it and commented on how confined that area was. They had also pointed out the reason for the cotton, and if it made a difference being outside or inside.

Being very confused on what I had to do I came up with a completely random model.

My very first model...

Not knowing what my definition of Va was, I was confronted with the problem of coming up with an idea for my very first model.

Finally being able to come up with my own definition of Va : A traditional view towards the entity between people and objects. I deduced that it was an object that was passed down from generation to generation. Trying to relate that idea to my own, I tried to think back what was given to me by my parents that was very special to me, and it was this little blue toy. Thinking about what feelings this blue toy gave me, I came up with the very first model in my Architectural Studies.

The circular shape was from the sphere at the bottom of the blue toy that made it have the ability to roll around. The pillars are surrounded by the see-through material and the strips that were weaved together that symbolize the protection of my parents. Inside this area is a fluffy substance which also symbolized how comfortable I was with the presence of my parents.
